TV reporter Alison Parker and
cameraman Adam Ward shot dead, a third woman is in hospital

● Journalists named as Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27
● Shooting took place at 6.45am Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia
The shooting was captured by the crew and showed the reporter either recoiling as shots ring out as she is interviewing someone on air. Viewers watched in horror as the network then cut sharply to the bewildered anchor.
WDBJ7 network subsequently revealed to viewers said reporter Allison Parker and photographer Adam Ward were shot and killed in the course of a live broadcast.
She had been interviewing Vicki Gardner, local Chamber of Commerce head. She was shot the back and is currently in surgery.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Department’s Spokesperson Phillip Young, the shooting occurred at the Bedford County-Franklin County line in Moneta at 6:45am on Wednesday.
The WDBJ7 network wrote on its Facebook page: "Law enforcement is on scene at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta. The incident involves a WDBJ7 crew. We don't have any additional details.
Police say there were three victims. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. The shooting reportedly occurred during their live shot.
